About the studio
Distortion Enthusiasts started as a name for the work that had outgrown a personal site. The projects here get room to breathe — full design breakdowns, devlogs, and the reasoning behind decisions, rather than a card and a paragraph.
The name is honest. Distortion is the throughline: saturated guitars, clipped transients, signal pushed until it becomes texture. That instinct carries into how the games get built — systems that are legible until you lean on them, then reveal something rougher underneath.
Everything is built solo, in Unreal Engine 5, with the audio designed in-house rather than licensed in.
The name
Clipping is what happens when you push a signal past what the system can hold. The peaks flatten. What comes back is louder, denser, and rougher than what went in — and for a certain kind of ear, far more interesting than the clean version ever was.
That is the mark at the top of this page: a pure sine, ghosted, with the same wave clipped flat over the top of it. It is also, more or less, the design brief.
